Come join a growing group of about 40 to 50 people for an evening of philosphical/ethical/theological discussion regarding our purpose in this world. People of all faiths as well as those will no faith are welcome. The evening will begin with a free dinner and refreshments and will cap off with dessert and an open round-table discussion. The format is as follows: The group is divided into round tables of about 8 with each table served by a facilitator who enforces rules that provide for a safe environment that is designed to promote free and open discussion of potentially delicate topics. There is a short video to watch before the discussion begins that is intended to help focus the discourse on Christianity, but the actual discussion is truly and completely open once it begins. In addition to the A/V-equipped multi-purpose room in which our table discussions take place, the facility is equipped with day-care rooms as well as children's activity classrooms that are also supervised by on-site child-care providers, so please feel free to bring your children. The Columbia Alumni Group will pre-meet at the Marriot for a short introduction and briefing (perhaps 10-15 minutes) before proceeding to the Discussion Group Facility to join the rest of the group for dinner.
